The lesson the THIEF! thought me!

So yesterday night ... during my small moments of pleasure 'The Americanah' (a novel written by @chimamandaadichie) was giving me I did something wrong.... after I had reached some point in the novel I felt it was time to sleep I got out of bed and headed to the toilet to ease myself. I finished   and saw that the house was lit up as if everyone was up so I decided to start switching off the light. I switched off the parlour light, when it was time for me to switch off the kitchen light I felt very reluctant and something in me kept on saying go switch it off. I ignored it and came back to the room not wanting to delay my reading with this novel.

My sister (9years) was on my bed and I shook her and asked her to go sleep on her on bed cause I wanted to read comfortably.....under the blanket reading the novel I was giggling at the novel and its story and even screamed at my sister not to off the light cause I was still reading. After a while I got tired, too tired to switch off the light so I left it on (That something still told me to switch it off) and decided to save the rest for in the morning. I then slept off

Waking up in the morning... was good normal I started thinking of a new post to put up on the blog. I reached for my Bible, took my devotional book (Open Heavens), and I did a quick brief devotion and prayed a little into the day. I got up to start cleaning, my sisters bed had been bad for a while, the weight of my aunt and dad sitting on it broke the bed. I then decided to help her adjust it a little. On opening the window I look out and there was something really strange, The net had been cut out very clean. I called out to my mum to come see what I was seeing, and she called my dad with both their attention  my dad examined the place and then rushed outside. My mum following behind to check the back.

Outside the iron rod that was 'supposedly supposed to provide protection was removed'.....my mum saw 'The Americanah' book outside on the floor my flash drive with it, then she shouted 'Omotola where are your laptops?'.....Lol that was when I realized that my laptops weren't beside my pillow where I keep them all the time. I rushed outside trying to see for myself  what had happened, I stayed there for a while looking blank, then I got back inside trying not to cry and alll the whole thing overwhelm me.

My mum and sister kept on telling me sorry, lol I kept on pretending like it didnt bother me that much or maybe it was unbelievable that my laptops where gone! I prayed a small prayer telling God that I know this was a lesson, but he should please not punish me like this. What constantly came through my mind was all those times my mum and dad will be emphasizing closing our room windows and curtains, and how I will shrug and reluctantly go do it because in my head nothing bad will happen.

Then I remembered when Pastor in church emphasized on obedience being the key thing for this year, I remembered and I felt I couldn't ask God to help me in this situation cause He gave me a 'WARNING SIGNAL' and I just ignored it! Hehehe now I fully understood their reasons.

My dad came in the room and we were talking about it and I didn't want to mention I didnt off the light.... he didnt blame me, he blamed himself for listening to other people when he wanted to carry out the job of fully protecting his family. I felt sorry for him because I felt it was my fault not his, I still pretended like I didnt want to cry, but when he called me and hugged me and promised it wouldn't repeat itself then I started crying lol.... then he teased and said 'but you this girl you can sleep o' then I started laughing and crying. The laptops where gone! one a Hp and the other a Mac, the Hp my dad got me that and the Mac was given to me by Mohammed Babangida the owner of my secondary school, it was a gift as the best graduating student. To think the fools left without the charger *sigh.

You know what? Thank God for my life and that of my sister, thank God that I had the strength to still thank him, thank God that I learnt the hard way lol, Thank God that in every situation give thanks ...

Thank God now I have Learnt..... What will I miss most about the laptops? Probably its importance, my pictures...+ plus I had the vampire diaries season 4&5, Spatacus season 4, Revenge... even Boys before flowers that Korean love series ....0___0

Foundations, skin types .... undertones.

Finding the right shade of base to match your complexion always seems like a daunting task. And according to Jamie Greenberg, a celebrity makeup artist for Mark., most of us aren’t wearing the right color anyway. Often foundations and concealers prompt you to choose a shade based on your undertone, especially when shopping online. But if you don’t know what your undertone is, that isn’t much help!
An undertone is the color that's just beneath the skin, and while your skin tone can change (over time, with sun exposure, etc.), the undertone does not. Foundations usually come recommended for one of three undertone types: “cool,” “neutral,” or “warm.” It’s possible, though, to fall somewhere in between (you could be “neutral-warm,” for instance). To get you closer to finding the perfect match, we asked Greenberg to outline how to figure out your undertone. Note, these same principles apply on all skin tones, from very fair to dark. And remember, if you're having trouble DIY’ing it, you can always ask a professional makeup artist for a skin analysis.
Skin Undertones: Cool undertone
Those with cool undertones will notice their skin has a pink, red, or blue tinge to it.
You have a “cool” undertone if:
• If the veins on your wrist are blue or purple
• If silver jewelry flatters your skin more than gold
• When you look at your skin in the sun, it appears blue-ish
Skin Undertones: Neutral undertone
If you have neutral undertones, your skin is neither pink/red/blue nor yellow/gold/peach, but somewhere in between.

You have a “neutral” undertone if:
• The veins on your wrist are blue-green
• Both gold and silver jewelry flatter your skin
• When you look at your skin in the sun, it appears greenish
Skin Undertones: Warm undertones
Those with warm undertones will notice their skin has a yellow, gold, or peach tinge to it.
You have a “warm” undertone if:
• The veins on your wrist are slightly green or olive
• Gold jewelry flatters your skin more than silver
• When you look at your skin in the sun, it appears yellowish

Three More Tips for Finding the Right Foundation

So now you know your undertone, you can start to narrow the field. If you’re trying foundations in a store, here are Greenberg’s three tips to help you find the right one.

1: Prep Skin First

Before you do anything, exfoliate and moisturize your skin. “Slough off those dead skin cells and prepare that canvas so it can honestly accept color,” says Greenberg. “If your skin is sweaty or isn't totally clean, the color won't be accurate!”

2: Test in Good Lighting

Make sure you test your foundation in good lighting. It's always a good idea to first test it out in one location, and then go somewhere else with different lighting to see if it still matches. And make sure you're wearing white, as other colors might alter your tone. Greenberg warns that you should never try to correct your color with a base. “It's best to match your undertone, and then if you feel pale, you can always add bronzer or blush for dimension,” she says.

3: Match The Color You See Most

There are three parts of the body you have to think about: the face, the neck, and the décolletage—and Greenberg points out that all of these can differ. “The most natural thing would be to match your neck, but because of sun exposure and elements, the face are often darker than your neck,” she says. To even things out, Greenberg suggests choosing a product that matches the color you see the most, and then applying base to the face and neck so that you get even color all over.

4: See foundation that varnishes into your skin

After picking at least three shades try it on your face and not the back of your palm and see which shade varnishes into your skin. That will there for be your foundation color.

Know your skin type

There are 3 types of skin, the oil, dry and combination skin.

If your T-zone ( areas from the tip of your nose up to above your brows) are oil, your cheeks are oil and underneath your lip you have oily skin and is best to avoid foundation that contains oily chemicals that will make the foundation look cakey after application. Go for matte,non-luminous or oil-free foundations instead.

If your skin type is dry that is no shine on your cheeks or nose you have dry skin and is best to go for foundations that are luminous and not oil-free. Its the opposite for oily skin

Then lastly combination skins, just like mine. You find out that your face  is a mix of oily and dry some places are dry  some places really oily then you have combination skin. You can use matte foundations, but when contouring and highlight its best to go for products that suits certain areas of the face

Do Not Disturb-That pimple

I remember this saloon I go to in Lagos, just opposite my grandparents place. They can make hair soo beautifully and nice you even feel like tipping the workers for nice work done, but there was a problem. The owner of the shop was obsessed with ZITS (pimples), any time I come to visit and she sees a zit on my face... she's popping it. Lol she's follow my face movement and make sure she gets her hands on my pimple, it was very upsetting but I was just soo helpless.

I never liked to pop my pimple since my dad told me it wasn't good, and since then i never popped a pimple and my face has been pimple free tho my skin breaks out whenever I eat too much oil or before I see my period.

Today I'll be fighting for the right of the pimple and also for the right of your face... it has come to my notice that both can co-exist

DND.... but you can treat it well so it leaves your face without scarring you or leaving your face rough and bumpy! Here are some tips

1- Drink a lot of water, it helps the skin a lot. I gave you guys some mathematics to solve on one of my post where I said at least 1litre a day, we know that 100cl = 1litre so buy a 50cl bottle water and drink 2 bottles it makes it easier to measure you intake of water... you could increase your intake for better results.

2- Do not pop your pimple because it contains a bacteria that when burst can spread to another part of the face and like that your face is full with zits.

3- If you have a special event and the zit is just soo large and attention seeking use baking soda(make a smooth paste with water), tooth paste that contains silica, natural lemon juice. If you look at the list you see that all these items have that drying agent ability soo what it does it suck out the moisture from the zit... be patient leave it long enough for better results.

4- Use iced water, this cold really help to stop the inflammation of the zit.... so rubbing the ice in a circular motion could get some attention reduced

5. I wont forget to tell you to please wash your face at least twice a day. Use a mild soap not something medicated or harsh, a small towel and an exfoliating glove. DO NOT SCRUB YOUR FACE! be gentle with exfoliating. Splash warm water unto your face to open up your pores, wash, exfoliate, then use cool water not cold for final rinsing the dry up with your towel :)

6. We know your soo pretty/handsome quit over touching your face because your hands has alot of dirt packed on it from different areas you might have been. If you cant help it trying sanitizing your hands soo your face won't suffer.

So that's it for today... If you have more tips, please let me know and leave a comment below *___*

Who doesnt want KISSABLE LIPS?....

     WHO? LOL

I must confess if there's a part of my body that is the most pampered I will say its my lips... yes oh i love to keep them moisturized and soft it just gladdens me to know that my lips look kissable. I take care of them using different methods depending on what i can get my hands on...

1- Using olive oil and sugar

Olive oil (extra virgin) is known to be good for moisturizing the lips with the help of the sugar it helps to exfoliate the dead cells that may be lying on your lips making it look dark and yes!! UNKISSABLE!. Just mix the two together forming a paste then use your fingers in circular motions to exfoliate gently not to harsh gentle strokes. After that take a small towel dip it in warm water and wipe off the paste from your lips

2- Mixing Natural lemon juice and sugar

This is just the same method as the first only the lemon juice serves as a lightening agent, the sugar remains at its job. You may want to apply a little olive oil to the lip after exfoliating.

3- Buy a lip balm

Lip balms are good easy to wear and carry around, even if you're a fan of lipsticks and glosses endeavor to  use a lip balm before application... in naija a good one should cost at least less than N1000

A happy lip creates a happy smile ..

4- An old tooth brush and Petroleum Jelly

Get an old tooth brush or buy a new one specially for your lips ....make sure its bristles are straight and soft put a little petroleum jelly on it... start exfoliating in circular motions....

5- Using a Towel with honey

Just dip the point you'll be using to exfoliate in a little honey... work with your hands and the help of the towel round your lips. This shows your the amount of dead cell your rubbing off especially if your using a light colored towel.

So you could mix and combine to fit however you like to exfoliate.

8 steps to achieving your goals.........

It is not what you are, but your attitude towards life that matters where you are going to, but do remember that you will never get anywhere unless you know where you are.

Hey guys how was the weekend ..... I really do hope that it was wonderful. Today I'll be sharing with you 8 steps of achieving your goals.. soo if you're having challenges with goal setting please keep on reading... or just go to the main page and click another post.

Alright .....The 8 steps to goal setting

1.  Determine where you are and decide what you want to achieve.

This doesnt talk about your location, it talks about telling yourself the truth about your life. It simply means acknowledging the fact that you cant afford to do some certain kind of things because you are lacking in an area in your life. It simply means even when you have everything you're yearning for more because of a personal reason. It simply means avoiding self deceit. Then after deciding and accepting I say 'accepting' because some people still think they were adopted... lol .... it now comes to where you think of what you would like to achieve, that is where God comes in ... go to God and ask him for a divine direction for your life.

Proverb 16:25
There is a path before each person that seems right,
                          but it ends in death.

2.  Be Specific and Realistic

I love this one because it enables me request to my deepest desire.... Let me tell you a short story....there was a fire outburst in a house and the housegirl picked up the phone and dialed...911, luckily for her someone picked and she started screaming into the phone FIRE!! FIRE!! FIRE!! PLEASE COME AND HELP! and then she dropped the phone. After a while nobody showed up and she picked the phone and dailed again and repeated the same message. Guess what? hehe the house burnt down! and then the owners got angry and sued the policeman that answered the call to court...during the case the man said ' yes! she called yes! I answered but she failed to describe where the house was so we couldn't help. Does that explain how specific you have to be with your goals? I guess so.... quit saying i want to gain admission ... say i want to gain admission into this school to study that course and to finish in the year.... you write it down.
Being realistic.... my brother you know your 1 month salary is five thousand naira and you took pen and paper and started writing GOAL 1- I want to earn 1 million by the end of the year... hehe.. i pity you God is not a magician oooo. So be realistic in writing your goals.

Mathew 7:7-10
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
“You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? 10 Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not!

3. You must set a Deadline for your goals

I do not know about you but as for me whenever i am given an assignment and i have a dead line, and i also know that those people are counting on me to make that assignment work... I make sure with the help of God cause sometimes its tedious that I perform.  In this case you being is depending on you.. do not fail yourself. You yes! am talking to you that is reading this article you think you're soo young and you have time to be wasting...my friend you dont, there is no time to waste so arise and shine. IF YOU FAIL TO SET A DEADLINE FOR THAT GOAL? THAT PLAN IT WILL REMAIN SO TILL KINGDOM COMES

Psalm 90:12
12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

4. Write your GOALS down

This is probably the easiest out of them all... write it down ... your brain isn't a computer even the smartest of the smartest have a need to write some things down. It is good to also write down so you remind your self that you've been set by some kinda rule. Even God said

Isaiah 30:8

The Lord told me to write down his message for his people, so that it would be there forever.

5. Make a plan of action

You've got a goal.. how do you intend to execute it..Success isnt a one man business look for people around you that are in your area of interest ask questions... remember assupmtions is the lowest for of knowledge.. Do research on your interest what you're planning to study? how long will it take? who is the best in that area? which school is the best for that area? what can I do with this interest of mine? and the list goes on...

6. Execute your plan

This is a bold step.. do not hold back! Look for God's promises concerning your goals, ask God for help and keep asking, identify all the barriers you may face, you must be ready to pay the full price for whatever you want to achieve... reduce time wasting distractions, if you do not pay the price you will not get there, ask God to send helpers your way... here is one of God's promises

Hebrews 4:16

16 So whenever we are in need, we should come bravely before the throne of our merciful God. There we will be treated with undeserved kindness, and we will find help.

7. Review your goals regularly

That is why you wrote them in the first place to come back and meditate and envision and remind yourself.

8 Always remain FOCUSED, NEVER GIVE UP AND BE PATIENT.....these are the fruits of the spirit .. you need them

Galatians 5:22-23

22 God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, 23 gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways.

Thank you if you've read to this point hope you set your goals right don't forget to follow this blog and leave a comment! Thanks i love feedback it is encouraging.

What is the use of BLEACHING...your skin? When you can simply do this CLICK HERE

I do not judge... judging is for God. Many black African women tend to want to bleach their skins to a fairer version not minding if the skin tone will suit them or not. Anyways i do not know personally why alot of people bleach, but i guess most of them will have some touching stories....

As for me I LOVE MY SKIN COLOR! It doesnt make me less of a human being... If i feel my skin doesnt look its best there are a few things I do that enhances the quality of my skin

WHAT I DO AND RECOMMEND
- Buy exfoliating gloves... these babies do wonders... they do more than a normal sponge will do on your body... they scrub off dead skin cells easily allowing the skin to breathe. I will also recommend that if you do not have much and want to exfoliate your face you could use this gloves and your normal bathing soap or shower gel... just remember to be gentle and patient... if you scrub hard and you do not like end results you caused it. Its exfoliating not scrubbing

I got mine for N800 in shopright Abuja, I am sure they have this everywhere you just have to look for quality ones.

- Using Sunscreen Protection SPF 30-60 Depending on the climate conditions. This is a very good product that helps protect the skin from sun burns. If you think you're too black to be sun burnt.... you'll be deceiving yourself because it might not be noticeable but your skin is suffering consequences of harsh sun rays....The product should be used adequately for a better result and it doesnt leave your skin looking white and pale like other sunscreen products do.
This can be purchased from Konga... It is N2800
Click here ... When the site opens write in the search box SUNSCREEN PROTECTION SPF 30!

- Buy Umbrellas.... with the way the weather is, really hot and dry umbrellas are needed more to shield yourself from harsh rays of light. Carry that umbrella out its not only for Raining season.

-When going out in order to avoid dark circles and too much light straining the eyes .... Buy Sun glasses ... dont be waiting till its night before you wear your own or because burna boy wore it that night!
- Drink a lot of water .... 100cl makes 1liter soo what i do is get a bottle of water that measures 50cl then make sure I finish two bottles a day. Hope this helps you to measure your water intake.

BEAUTY UNMASKED: Connecting Beauty Ideals of The Past to the Beauty Revolution of the Future

We are experiencing a revolution of beauty in Africa. No longer are African women willing to subject themselves to the western ideals of beauty. Our generation is starting to embrace natural hair, curves, and even tribal marks could be next. In order to fully realize this impending beauty revolution, we need to connect our current and future beauty ideals to our heritage as African women. The goal of the #SMWBeautyUnmasked panel is to empower Nigerian women by re-thinking the way we as African women see beauty in ourselves.
The goal of this discussion is to empower Nigerian women by discussing how we can connect our current and future beauty ideals to our heritage as African women. Stay away.....

I came across this tweet sometime ago and it said .... If you show a GIRL you do not care she'll chase you, but if you show a WOMAN you do not care she'll replace you. At first when i read it I was smiling to myself secretly wondering if I am still a girl or I have grown to become a woman.

So let me ask are you a woman or a girl... are you still a boy or a man? It then puzzled me why a girl will chase a guy who doesnt care for her and then the bulb lit up and I realized she chases the guy because she isn't used to disappointments, she's used to getting what she wants, nobody says no to her .... and as for the woman she has grown to understand that in life disappointments are inevitable... and no one has time for time wasters.

I used to be a girl.... letting my emotions cloud my reasoning. Putting my mind at risk, but then I fed the girl courage to become a woman... that woman who will then replace the boy for a man!.

Stay away from them guys that do not put emotion to their doings with you..... or them girls who see you as a money bag....as you've got a lot to loose you may not see it now, but when your assumptions are wrong and you're too cowardly to blame yourself then you'll realize.

I feel that Alhaji Dangote and the Mr Adenuga had no time for this because they understood the principle of there's time for everything. They sort first to discover themselves then every other thing followed.

Stay away!!!

Are we friends????......

Okay today is definately another Wednesday... and Mrs Toke Ayida has posted yet another interesting episode of her weekly vlog!!!! I was soo happy when I heard her and her long time boo tied the knot.... almost blushing my cheeks out like it was my own wedding. I really do wish i had something like that...a long time relationship.....12 years no be beans!!!

TOKE SAID!!!!

Okay today's vlog she talked about unnecessary haters.... people that are haters and refuse to acknowledge the fact that they are haters. People that pick up grudges with other people for the most stupid reasons, and she was saying that there's no use carrying a grudge over someone who does not know that you exist.

Toke emphasized the 'stupidity' in being a delusional hater!!!!! she said if you do not know how the person sleeps, or lives or eats you do not have a right to be upset with them over stupid reasons.

In her words 'if you are a victim of such haters, you should ask God to bless them and also pray they find something to keep them busy since they are so jobless'

Life is too short too be squeezing your face because of how someone looks .... she said leave the unhappy zone and walk to the happy zone.... because whether you hate from now till tomorrow the person doesnt care...

WHAT I THINK

I think she is totally right!!!! No one should be hated on or be a hater for stupid reasons and if really you do not have a real friendship.. then its yourself you are doing ooo

Moreover assuming you've got a problem with someone and you know you are friends with that person let the grudge out don't let it eat you...talk to them say how you feel it makes things easier.... Life is once oo no second time....

Till next week
